Forklift Engineer – Bristol

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience)

NEOS Engineering are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Forklift Engineer to join their team in Bristol. This is a hands-on, field-based role focused on the maintenance, servicing, and repair of a wide range of forklifts and material handling equipment, ensuring safe and reliable operations for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Service, maintain, and repair diesel, LPG, and electric forklifts

Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs

Test and commission forklifts and other material handling equipment

Maintain accurate service and maintenance records

Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and safe use of PPE

Provide technical advice and support to clients on-site

Requirements

Proven experience as a forklift or material handling engineer

Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding skills

Experience with counterbalance, reach, and order picker forklifts

Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and service manuals

Full UK driving licence

Excellent communication skills and a professional approach

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable:

Manufacturer-specific training or accreditation

Experience with major forklift brands (e.g., Toyota, Linde, Hyster, Crown, Still)

NVQ or equivalent in mechanical/engineering maintenance

Experience with heavy industrial or warehouse equipment
