We are looking to appoint a candidate to a secondment into the position of Senior Theatre Practitioner to cover Anaesthesia. The successful candidate will ensure the highest standards of clinical care and practice are maintained, working as a skilled member of the Theatre team in leading, providing and maintaining high standards of peri‑operative care.

You will have a higher knowledge of team leadership and management of human and financial resources and a personable nature. You will be innovative in your approach, able to prioritise your own workload and that of others, and possess excellent communication skills. Demonstrate a flexible approach to working, coordinating with other colleagues in multidisciplinary teams. A broad experience and knowledge of human resource processes is desirable.

• Lead by example and display a leadership style that empowers staff and nurtures development at all levels.
• Act independently and use own initiative and inspire others through action and setting a professional and positive example, challenging traditional practices and encouraging innovative problem solving among staff.
• Carry overall responsibility and accountability for the department or area.
• Promote a patient‑focused approach to care in collaboration with carers and relevant healthcare professionals.
• Be responsible for developing and sustaining own knowledge, clinical skills and professional awareness. Facilitate staff to fulfil CPD requirements and maintain a professional profile.
• Work with the Theatre Team, Lead Nurse / Practitioner and Practice Development Team in developing and implementing theatre clinical practice.
