Fitter, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

GBP 34,500 to GBP 37,500 DOE (GBP 17ph to GBP 18.50ph) + Regular overtime opportunities (1.3x:
1.5x) + Travel bonuses + 25 days holiday + bank holidays + training and development opportunities.

39 hours per week:
Monday to Thursday 07:30‑16:30, Friday 07:30‑12:30.

Fitter required for an industry‑leading precision instrument manufacturer experiencing continued growth. The company has a history of over 80 years and a global reputation and client base. It offers in‑depth product training and development opportunities for the future.

The successful candidate will need experience working as a fitter in a precise, low‑volume industry and can come from any manufacturing environment. The role is open to both mechanically and electrically biased candidates. The candidate must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.

• Mechanical assembly of high‑precision systems used in industries including aerospace and data centres.
• Electrical wiring and basic fault finding.
• Calibration of finished products.
• Regular overtime available.
• Full product training provided.
• Support the team with site installations of equipment and yearly inspections 2–3 times a year, up to 1–2 weeks at a time.

• Fitter / low‑volume assembly experience.
• Any engineering background.
• Mechanically or electrically biased.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
