Information Technology Manager

IT Manager | Bath (Hybrid once a week) | £65,000 – £75,000

A growing, engineering-led technology company is looking for an experienced IT Manager to take ownership of its internal IT and cloud environment. This is a highly technical environment where modern cloud infrastructure, security, and collaboration with development teams are central to success.

This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who enjoys working across Microsoft 365, Azure infrastructure, and security-focused environments, ensuring systems are reliable, secure, and optimised. You’ll play a key role in maintaining a high-performance, security-conscious IT estate that supports both business operations and a fast-paced development function.

• Own and manage the organisation’s Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and One Drive
• Administer and optimise Microsoft Azure infrastructure including virtual networks, VMs, storage, and identity services
• Strengthen and maintain cloud and endpoint security, aligning systems with best practices and standards such as Cyber Essentials
• Manage identity and access across Active Directory and Entra  (Azure AD), including user provisioning, policies, and access controls
• Collaborate closely with software engineering teams to ensure infrastructure supports development and Dev Ops practices

• Administer VMware environments including ESXi, vCenter, and virtual machines
• Support infrastructure patching, upgrades, and disaster recovery planning
• Work alongside an outsourced provider on network management (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, IPv4/IPv6)
• Contribute to improving overall IT security posture, resilience, and operational maturity

• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft 365 (O365) in a business environment
• Proven experience working with Microsoft Azure, including secure configuration of cloud resourcesli>
• Solid understanding of Azure security, identity management, and access control
• Experience supporting or working within environments aligned to Cyber Essentials or similar security frameworks
• Good knowledge of Active Directory / Entra  hybrid identity setups
• Experience with Intune or other endpoint/device management tools
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently
• Clear communication skills and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset

• Power Shell or other scripting experience
• VMware administration experience
• Relevant Microsoft or security certifications
• Experience supporting Apple Mac devices in a corporate environment
