We are looking for a motivated and compassionate People Advisor to join our People Business Partnering Team. This role offers an excellent development opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys providing practical advice and supporting managers within a large and values led NHS organisation. This is a fixed term post covering maternity leave until 31 March 2027.
Working closely with a Deputy People Business Partner, you will provide a responsive and professional HR service across a designated Division or Directorate. You will support managers with the consistent application of People policies and processes, contribute to project work, and help develop positive people management practices.
The role includes supporting employee relations casework responding to queries through AskHR inbox, producing reports and analysis, supporting job evaluation processes, and contributing to People Directorate initiatives.
You will ideally hold (or be working towards) a Level 5 CIPD qualification or have equivalent relevant experience. You will bring sound HR knowledge, excellent organisational skills, strong communication skills and confidence working with data, systems such as case management systems and Microsoft Office tools.

Main duties of the jobThe People Advisor supports the People Business Partner (PBP) Team within their areas of responsibility (designated Divisions / Corporate Directorates) and across the People Directorate in the provision of people advice and best practice people management.
This includes:
- Support the Deputy People Business partner with employee relations casework and project work.
- Supporting the PBP in work to bring about sustainable improved results / trends against key performance indicators (KPIs), including vacancy rates, sickness absence, staff survey results, turnover, organisational change, culture, exit feedback etc. Producing reports, analysis and interpretation of this data as required.
- Working closely with all members of the People Directorate to develop and implement effective and appropriate solutions for People issues.
- Supporting projects areas as directed by the PBP, developing project plans and delivering actions as agreed.
