Aboutthe Role
The primary objective of this role is to provide operational leadership and strategic direction to a team. You will ensure the delivery of high‑quality, person‑centred social care services that promote independence, wellbeing, and safety for adults with care and support needs. As a Team Manager, you will ensure that statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act are met, while managing resources effectively to achieve the best outcomes for the residents of Bath and North East Somerset.
You will be instrumental alongside the Service Lead in driving service improvements and fostering a culture of professional excellence and emotional resilience within your team.
- Qualified Social Worker with evidence of post‑qualifying experience in an adult social services department
- Knowledge and understanding of legislation and guidance relating to Adult Social Care, Safeguarding and Mental Health Legislation.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, including proven ability to absorb complex information and present it to different audiences in a clear and accessible way.
- Line management or supervisory experience, including managing the performance of a team or individuals in a statutory adult social care function.
- Experience of effective working within and across agencies and organisations including health, voluntary and other statutory partners.
- Experience of dealing with concerns and complaints.
- Experience of using performance data and management information to identify trends, address backlogs, and improve service efficiency.
