Are you a relational, compassionate HLTA who believes that connection comes before correction? Are you passionate about engaging young people through curiosity, co-exploring and modelling learning together? If so, we would love to hear from you.

We are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEND secondary setting in Clevedon. This is a full-time role starting ASAP, working with young people who thrive when relationships are strong, consistent and rooted in trust.

Deliver planned lessons to secondary-aged pupils using a co-exploring and modelling approach

Build warm, attuned relationships that help pupils feel safe, understood and ready to learn

Use PACE (Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy) to support emotional regulation and engagement

Work alongside teachers to provide small group and 1:1 support

Create an inclusive, calm and encouraging learning environment

Support pupils’ personal development as well as academic progress

Experience working with secondary-aged pupils, ideally within SEND

A strong understanding of relational practice and trauma-informed approaches

Ideally, knowledge of PACE

, and Team Teach

Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons and adapting learning to meet individual needs

Excellent communication skills and a genuine belief in every child’s potential

A caring and collaborative team environment
