SEN Teacher (Complex Needs & Autism)
Location: North West London Contract Type: Full-time Start Date: September 2025
Are you an experienced, passionate, and creative SEN Teacher looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to join a vibrant and well-resourced specialist school for students aged 4-19 with a range of learning differences.
The Role:You will be leading a class of 8 students aged 12-15 years, all working at a V2‑V4. The students have a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, Global Developmental Delay, and associated conditions. Some present with behaviours that challenge, but all are supported by well‑established systems and a skilled multidisciplinary team.
Your classroom will include:- Students who are mostly non‑verbal and communicate using body language, facial expressions, PECS, AAC devices, and visual supports.
- A highly structured learning environment with the use of visual timetables, 'Now & Next' boards, sensory stories, intensive interaction, and other specialist strategies.
- A focus on delivering a personalised curriculum including core subjects through creative, multi‑sensory, and practical approaches.
- A strong emphasis on communication, emotional regulation, and life skills development.
- Excellent support from a dedicated leadership team and skilled support staff
- On‑site therapists and multidisciplinary input to support learning
- Access to extensive CPD opportunities including specialist training in Autism and communication approaches
- A collaborative and positive staff culture
- Purpose‑built facilities and well‑resourced classrooms
- A qualified SEN teacher (QTS/QTLS) with experience or a strong interest in working with pupils with SEND, especially those with autism and complex learning needs
- Someone who is proactive, flexible, and passionate about inclusive education
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a nurturing and resilient attitude
