Interim Assistant Headteacher (Alternative Provision)
Location: London
Contract: Interim
Start: ASAP
Contract award: £350-450 per day
I’m supporting a London-based multi-academy trust to appoint an Interim Assistant Headteacher for an Alternative Provision setting
.
This is a hands‑on leadership role, suited to someone confident operating in a fast‑paced, high‑challenge environment, supporting pupils with complex behavioural needs.
Key experience required- Senior leadership experience (Assistant Head / Deputy Head / Head of School)
- Background in Alternative Provision, SEMH, SEND or similar settings
- Strong behaviour leadership and pastoral expertise
- Confident, resilient and calm under pressure
- Experience with de‑escalation strategies (e.g. Team Teach) highly desirable
- Comfortable with a teaching commitment alongside leadership duties
- High‑impact interim role with real autonomy
- Opportunity to move to permanent for the right person
- Supportive leadership team and clear priorities
