We are looking to recruit a dedicated compassionate, well‑organised, reliable, and self‑motivated individual with excellent communication skills to work closely with families, pupils, and staff to improve student attendance and engagement in school life.

Experience working in education is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided to the successful candidate. Organisation, time‑management, the ability to work under pressure and the ability to communicate effectively are of great importance within this role.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Improving Attendance:
Reduce and prevent pupil absence by working with families and schools to understand and overcome barriers.
  • Bridging Home and School:
Act as an impartial and confidential link between home and school to foster better communication and relationships.
  • Providing Support and Advice:
Offer advice, support and guidance on a range of issues including behaviour routines and family well‑being to support children's attendance and engagement with learning.
  • Multi-Agency Working:
Collaborate with schools, local authorities, children's social care and other statutory partners to create joint plans and provide holistic support particularly in cases of severe absence or potential safeguarding issues.

Benefits include generous annual leave entitlement, access to a local government pension scheme, sick pay scheme, cycle‑to‑work scheme, free eye tests, and employee assistance helpline. Employees also have access to an employee benefits platform offering savings on everyday essentials and special offers on travel, dining and entertainment.

We encourage early applications as we reserve the right to close the vacancy prior to the closing date if we receive sufficient applications for the role.

St Marks and Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applications from under‑represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender status, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion are particularly welcome.
