RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Thrive Practitioner to remove barriers to learning and support the social‑emotional and mental health (SEMH) progress of our pupils. The role is a fixed‑term position until the end of the current academic year, with potential for extension. You will work 13 hours per week across two days (8:30 am–3:30 pm, with a daily 30‑minute unpaid lunch break).
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver personalised THRIVE 1‑2‑1 and small group intervention sessions.
- Work alongside an experienced 3‑day‑per‑week Thrive Practitioner.
- Assess pupils’ needs and use specialist skills to support learning, promoting self‑esteem and independence.
- Establish relationships with pupils, act as a role model, and promote inclusion of all.
- Lead or contribute to meetings with parents and provide pastoral support for pupils.
- Liaise with external agencies and professionals to support pupils’ achievement and progress.
- Essential: Experience working with children of relevant age in a learning environment.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 in English and Maths.
- Strong understanding of child development learning processes and statutory frameworks relating to special educational needs.
- Ability to relate well to children and adults and work constructively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using ICT to support learning and maintain records.
- Desirable: Current THRIVE Practitioner Licence for Primary with commitment to professional development.
- NVQ Level 3/4 qualification.
- Appropriate knowledge of general first aid (e.g., Paediatric First Aid Certificate).
