Department of EconomicsThe Department of Economics is part of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, with 58 academics, five specialist research groups and strong global engagement. It offers PhD, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with a strong employability record.
About the RoleAs a Professor of Economics you will contribute to excellent teaching, impactful research and provide leadership to one of the department’s research groups.
Responsibilities- Deliver high‑quality teaching and supervise PhD students.
- Publish in internationally leading economics journals and secure research funding.
- Lead one of the department’s research groups and collaborate across university centres.
- Engage with external partnerships, policy bodies and research organisations.
- Record of publications in general interest and top field economics journals.
- Evidence of research leadership at national and international levels.
- Proven record of excellence in teaching and PhD supervision, including innovative methods.
Potential onsite interviews are planned on 19th and 20th March 2026.
