A highly reputable and successful accountancy practice based near Midsomer Norton is searching for an Accountant to service a wide-ranging and varied portfolio of clients delivering year‑end accounts, tax, bookkeeping, VAT returns and other compliance services. You will carve a key role here, adding value to clients and building relationships within a growing team and firm.

Client Details

This firm acts for a wide range of sole traders, partnerships and limited company clients across varying turnovers and industry sectors. The environment is team‑focused with close collaboration with managers and directors. Flexible working hours and a mix of home‑to‑office arrangements are offered, along with study support for those pursuing qualifications. Working hours and arrangements can also accommodate part‑time or full‑time schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Year‑end accounts preparation and tax compliance service provision.
• Bookkeeping and VAT compliance.
• Providing additional accounting services to a varied client base of sole traders, partnerships and limited company SMEs and OMBs.
• Developing responsibility and client contact over time, and mentoring junior/trainee staff.
• Working closely with managers and directors.

Candidate Profile

• May be currently studying or hold an AAT qualification, pursuing ACCA/ACA qualifications, or have a relevant background with 2–3 years of experience or more within a UK‑based accountancy practice.
• Experience preparing year‑end accounts, tax and wider service provision to a varied client base.
• Seeking a firm and role where further development and progression are possible.

Compensation and Benefits

£28,000 – £32,000 plus benefits, negotiable according to experience and background.
