SIC Maintenance Specialist / FT (GE BATES)

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks a Maintenance Specialist to perform ongoing plant maintenance at the Batesville, MS site. Hired candidates will be considered for benefits and paid time off after a 3‑month probationary period.

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues on production machines such as CNC lathes, CNC robots, heat treat furnaces, air compressors, HVAC and cooling tower systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance (PM) tasks, including calibration of test equipment.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove, repair or replace defective parts using hoists, hand tools, and power tools.
• Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, repair or replace defective parts, and install special functional and structural parts in devices and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair a variety of plant equipment and systems.
• Work with engineers or contractors on machine setups or to resolve machine issues.
• Use and operate hand and power tools such as electric drills, air drills, hand wrenches, welding, and other tools as needed in a safe, efficient manner.
• Enter and maintain records in the computer, including Maximo work orders and preventive maintenance records.
• Work independently and as part of a team.
• Analyze and resolve work problems.
• Balance multiple tasks and priorities.
• Communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Perform safety inspections of work area, equipment and tools in accordance with SIC policy and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrate knowledge of safety standards and precautions for plant maintenance and repair work.
• Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
• Observe SIC/Client safety processes and procedures at all times.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.

• At least two years of experience related to general production maintenance, supporting site maintenance activities through safe performance of a wide range of manual and skilled labor tasks.

• Work may occur in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
• Must lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas.
• Must adequately hear and respond to voice commands, alarms, and other job‑related noises.
• Must safely access all areas of property and buildings.
• Must use all required PPE equipment correctly.
• Must perform strenuous physical demands such as standing for long periods, bending, working on ladders, and awkward body positions.
• Safety/steel‑toe shoes required.
