Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of licensed professionals or under the direction of an RN. Maintains professional accountability for patient care for assigned patients, coordinates care with other departments, and upholds patient rights and confidentiality.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program; consideration will be given for comparable education, experience, and successful licensure.

Licensure:
Must obtain and maintain a current LPN license in the hiring state and meet all State Board of Nursing requirements.

One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position/unit or must be acquired within the department-required timeframe.

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• LPN‑IV Certification completed prior or within 3 months of hire for LPNs in Missouri.
• Other unit‑specific certifications as required.

• Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. regularly.
• Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
