The purpose of this position is to provide various art activities for Residential Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, and to assist with Life Enrichment programming on an individual and group basis.
Essential Responsibilities- Plan and implement creative arts for all levels of care, adapting as needed.
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and implementation of life enrichment programs.
- Assist in the set‑up and decorating for special events such as Mother’s Day, Christmas, and other themed activities.
- Assist in the set‑up of rooms, materials, and furnishings for programs and in clean‑up following events.
- Lead programs, such as arts and crafts, education and social events.
- Record attendance as necessary.
- Operate and maintain equipment.
- Maintain display cases and art galleries, prepare materials, and assist in newsletter production.
- Observe resident conditions on an ongoing basis, including mental state and general well‑being; report changes to the Life Enrichment Coordinator and other personnel as appropriate.
- Assist in the transportation of residents in case of fire, disaster or emergency evacuation according to procedure.
- Engage in one‑on‑one visits to provide art to healthcare residents.
- Preferred Degree:
High School Diploma or Equivalent - Experience:
Entry Level
- Creativity and ability to teach and use various crafts and related equipment.
- Organizational, customer service, communication and time management skills.
- Detail‑oriented.
- Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to operate various equipment based on department and weather conditions.
- Engage in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and/or writing.
- Clarity of Vision:
- Near visual acuity: 20 inches or less (e.g., working with small objects or reading small print), including computer use.
- Far visual acuity: 20 feet or more – ability to recognize features.
- Peripheral vision: observing an area that can be seen up and down or to right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point.
$15.00 - $17.51 per hour.
