About the RoleThis is a skilled trade role for someone who enjoys precision work, tools, and craftsmanship. Our Die Makers build and repair steel rule cutting dies used in rotary and flatbed die-cutting applications for packaging and converting customers. If you've built dies before-or you're a strong hands-on manufacturing tech ready to grow-this can be a great long-term career.
What You'll DoConstruct, assemble, and repair steel rule cutting dies and related tooling to customer/job specifications
Cut, bend, and notch steel rule using manual and automated equipment (example: Serviform/Easy Bender or similar)
Insert, grind, and secure rule into die boards to meet tolerance, fit, and alignment requirements
Read and interpret CAD drawings, blueprints, and job tickets
Rubber dies and operate rubbering/blanking/stripping equipment as needed
Make revisions and modifications to existing dies based on updated specifications
Inspect materials and finished dies; correct nonconformances when found
Perform preventative maintenance (cleaning, adjustments, minor repairs)
Track work, time, and job updates in computer-based systems
Maintain tool organization and a clean, safe workstation
Communicate clearly with CAD, production, and leadership to clarify specs and solve problems
Support training/mentoring of less experienced team members as assigned
High school diploma or equivalent required
1–3 years of die making, die cutting, or related manufacturing experience preferred
Ability to interpret blueprints/CAD drawings/specifications accurately
Comfort using rule bending equipment and hand tools
Strong attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
Basic computer skills; familiarity with ERP/job tracking systems is a plus
Team-oriented, dependable, and committed to safety and continuous improvement
Physical Requirements
Manufacturing environment; moderate-to-high noise and dust; PPE required
Standing on concrete for extended periods; frequent bending/stooping
Repetitive hand/arm motions with hand tools
Lifting up to 65 lbs (over 65 lbs with assistance)
