Production Manager, Operations Manager
Position: Shift Lead
Location: Batavia, IL
Wage: $38.67
Shift: 2nd shift (2-10pm) / (Monday - Friday)
While reporting to the Plant Manager, as a Lead you will provide leadership in safety, productivity, quality, cost performance, and employee relations in a high-performance work team environment. This outline describes essential functions for each level of role in the leadership team. The following lists are not exhaustive, and the employee in each of these roles is expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in the following.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing
- Supervise all production activities assigned shift, schedule shift employees as well as crew machines to cover vacations, absence, and overtime
- Ensure the safety of all employees by leading a comprehensive safety program to prevent injuries
- Train, direct and mentor employees on your shift
- Support quality initiatives to ensure product meets or exceeds customer expectations
- Provide leadership in plant continuous improvement initiatives utilizing lean manufacturing methodology such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen
- Identify, propose, and implement capital and focused improvement projects to improve operational performance
- Build and maintain productive relationships that foster employee engagement and satisfaction
- Develop subordinates through education, coaching, training, and teamwork
- Responsible for ensuring that the maintenance of equipment is properly carried out and short comings are documented and addressed
- Supports employee relations by assisting with staffing, performance feedback, recognition, coaching and corrective actions processes within established company policies.
- Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the Microsoft programs – Word, Excel, and Power Point
- High sense of urgency and self-motivation
- Motivates through high involvement and positive reinforcement
- Pushes the envelope – continually raising the bar on expectations
