Seasonal On-Call Groundskeeper

The expected hiring range for this position is: $15.00-$30.00.

About the Role

Fermilab's Infrastructure Services Division seeks a Seasonal On-Call Groundskeeper to join the Grounds Maintenance Group in the Roads & Grounds Department. Under direct supervision, you will perform tasks to maintain Fermilab site roads, grounds, and related facilities.

What your day-to-day as a Seasonal On-Call Groundskeeper at Fermilab will look like

• Performs landscape maintenance activities including, trimming, pruning, and snow removal.
• Maintains and cleans the underground stormwater drainage systems, Perform heavy physical labor.
• May be required to work mandatory overtime. No guaranteed minimum hours. May be required to work any time between the hours of 4am and 10pm.

Skills and Attributes for Success

• Must be 18 years of age with a valid state issued driver's license
• Must have the ability to lift 50 lbs.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• 2 or more years of groundskeeping experience

Skills and Abilities

Required

• Previous experience in landscape construction and maintenance, or heavy equipment operations and maintenance, is desirable.
• Previous experience in snow removal operations;
  Must be available to respond promptly to snow removal at all hours.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office).
• Ability to work independently and harmoniously in a group setting.
• Ability to abide by all environment, safety and health regulations.
• Willingness to respect, understand and value individual differences that embody laboratory principles of diversity and inclusion.
