Job Overview

Trust Bank is looking for enthusiastic, entrepreneurial team members to join our new branch in Wheaton, IL. The Person al Banker will provide a high‑touch approach to building customer relationships, offering the full range of banking services for individuals and commercial clients, and supporting branch operations. The role requires a proactive, customer‑focused individual who can advocate Trust Bank within the community.

Responsibilities
  • Promote Trust Bank, its values, and its service standards.
  • Ensure customers receive prompt and courteous service.
  • Cross‑sell products to meet customer needs.
  • Answer phone inquiries.
  • Represent Trust Bank at community functions and in your network to generate new relationships.
  • Open new accounts and issue or redeem certificates of deposit.
  • Assist customers in resolving account related problems.
  • Maintain compliance when opening and closing accounts.
  • Establish proper identification for new customers, obtain credit reports, and determine product suitability.
  • Provide loan applications as appropriate.
  • Order, activate, and update ATM/Debit cards.
  • Process check orders and re‑orders.
  • Remain flexible to scheduling needs during all Wheaton location business hours (M‑F 8 AM‑6 PM).
  • Open and close the bank, process night drop deposits, and run teller transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Balance drawer cash and vault cash.
  • Approve checks within limits.
  • Order and stock adequate supplies.
  • Maintain over/short reports and other transaction reports.
  • Ship and order currency and coin from the Federal Reserve.
  • Scan and balance transactions in the proof program.
  • Assist with monthly reporting.
  • Attend bank meetings and educational seminars as required.
  • Provide support to the Market President.
  • Support ancillary deposit operations across the bank at‑large as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associate degree or higher in business or finance preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of retail banking experience required.
  • Banking certifications are ideal but not required.

Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience in customer sales, relationship management, and cross‑selling.
  • Proactive, collaborative, and problem‑solving mindset.
  • Strong cash handling skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to articulate financial concepts to customers.
  • Knowledge of mortgage, lending, and wealth management products.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in data entry, word processing, Microsoft Office, and basic Excel.
  • Ability to learn and use the bank’s data processing system.
  • Use of general office equipment (PC, calculator, scanner/copier, etc.).
Working Conditions

The position requires a full‑time schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 8 AM‑5 PM or 9 AM‑6 PM, with flexibility for occasional banking functions, networking events, and Traveler requirements outside regular business hours. The role involves standing, walking, using hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

Compensation & Benefits
