Utility Technician is a skilled professional who performs installation, maintenance, and repair on utility systems like water, sewer, compressor, aircon, gas, lighting, building, metal work, civil work, and electricity, ensuring their safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include performing inspections, troubleshooting problems, installing equipment, conducting repairs, and adhering to safety standards to prevent service interruptions. This role requires a strong understanding of technical systems, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work effectively in various environments.
Placement: PT. Blue Ocean Labs
Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repair of factory facilities: HVAC systems, cleanroom environment, air compressors, water supply & wastewater systems, lighting, and other utilities.
- Monitor and operate facility equipment to ensure smooth and reliable performance with minimal downtime.
- Respond quickly to facility-related breakdowns and failures to support uninterrupted production operations.
- Diagnose issues in utilities (electricity, HVAC, water, compressed air, exhaust systems) and execute corrective actions effectively.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance schedules for utilities, ensuring long-term equipment reliability.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, maintenance activities, spare part usage, and downtime events.
- Ensure all facility systems and equipment comply with workplace safety (EHS/K3), fire safety, and environmental regulations.
- Regularly check fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, alarms, extinguishers) to ensure readiness.
- Monitor and optimize facility energy consumption (electricity, water, compressed air, HVAC usage) to reduce operating costs.
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and modification of utilities to support new production lines or plant expansion.
- Work with contractors and vendors during major facility projects, ensuring proper handover and documentation.
- Update technical documentation such as facility layouts, utility schematics, and maintenance logs.
- Fluent in English verbal and written.
- Minimum education:
Vocational School (SMK) / Diploma (D3) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Building Services Engineering. - At least 2–3 years of facility/utility maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid knowledge of HVAC, pumps, compressors, piping, water treatment, wastewater, fire protection systems, and basic electrical installations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with EHS, safety, and environmental standards.
