Overview of Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily output, baking, production, and display of bakery products.
  • Supervise and monitor product quality and consistency, track inventory, and manage the bakery's budget.
  • Evaluate department conditions and operations to determine strengths and areas for improvement; develop improved practices and procedures.
  • Ensure company standards for safety, proper food‑handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained.
  • Responsible for correct ordering, receiving, unloading, and storage.
  • Execute rotation of merchandise and building of displays.
  • Manage department inventory, in‑stocks, pricing integrity, merchandising, labor, and other operational processes to Sprouts standards.
  • Plan and order according to company standards to maximize sales and gross profit.
  • Engage and evaluate team members through coaching, feedback, and one‑on‑one development discussions, and make recommendations on merit increases via completing the bi‑annual performance review process.
  • Attend and participate in in‑store meetings.
  • Recruit, hire, and make promotion/transfer decisions in collaboration with the Store Manager.
  • Exercise independent judgment to address Team Member concerns and coordinate corrective actions with business and HR partners.
  • Create and adjust schedules to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
  • Communicate standards, expectations, policy changes, and product knowledge to team members.
  • Lead a team that delivers the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
  • Serve as a Key Carrier for the store and/or act as a Manager on Duty (MOD) as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule that may include night, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ retail grocery experience.
  • Dependable, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude toward team members and customers.
  • Good communication skills; ability to give and receive direction in a team environment.
  • Ability to answer phones and take special orders.
  • Perform general housekeeping; clean and sanitize the department.
  • Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other equipment.
  • Stand continuously for up to 3 hours per shift; transfer trays and items of specified weight and distance.
  • Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and maintain a Food Handlers permit.
  • Possess knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers, and financial goals.
