• Assist the Bakery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory control, product quality, and supervision of the Bakery team
• Execute rotation of merchandise and build displays
• Monitor incoming cases for damaged items
• Ensure delivery of excellent customer service and monitor the quality of Bakery product
• Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain deli equipment
• Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and that other Bakery team members follow these procedures
• Operate in a fast‑paced environment and thrive under its demands

• Minimum 18 years of age with at least two years of retail grocery experience and two years of supervisory experience
• Dependable and reliable with ability to work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays
• Outgoing, friendly, and enthusiastic with a positive attitude; able to interact effectively with customers
• Good communication skills and ability to give and receive direction within a team environment
• Ability to answer phones and take special orders
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area including tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer, etc.
• Operate and use knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks as needed; use knowledge of scales and weight measures to accurately weigh and label products
• Stand continuously up to 3 hours per shift, and perform vertical and horizontal transfer tasks, including lifting trays up to 5 lbs. from 7” to 64”, and items up to 40 lbs. from 5” to 36” over distances up to 36 feet
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and obtain and maintain a Food Handlers permit
