• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Meat & Seafood team.
• Effectively coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product, highest level of service, and the greatest customer experience.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Meat & Seafood team.
• Know weekly ad items, assist with inventory and ordering; enforce and follow department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and unloading of product for freshness and quality, and perform our “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4” Programs.
• Unload and sort through store deliveries, operate, and maintain meat & seafood equipment.
• Ensure execution of all company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations, and ensure team members are aware of and follow these procedures.
• Thrive in a fast‑paced environment.

• At least 18 years old, basic math, weights, and measures knowledge.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience, proven leadership, and 2‑3 years of grocery retail experience in meat department preferred.
• Dependable, reliable, and able to perform other related duties as assigned.
• Outgoing, friendly, positive attitude, and customer interaction skills.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Good communication skills; ability to take direction and participate in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping in the department; clean and sanitize work area (tables, floor, walls, cases, cooler, freezer).
• Adhere to all safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations, and company recipes.
• Capable of standing up to 4 hours continuously; must walk up to 2 miles per 8‑hour shift.
• Work inside temperature‑controlled area; general housekeeping duties as above.
• Good vision required for using sharp knives, band saw, grinder, sausage maker, box cutter, wrapping machine, and tenderizer.
• Lift/carry products horizontally/vertically 25‑90 lbs, 4‑60 inches, up to 10 feet for 20 hours.
• Use pallet jack to move pallets up to 500 lbs, requiring force up to 85 lbs, 100‑foot distance for up to 5 hours.
• Move racks of products up to 70 lbs, force up to 25 lbs, 50‑foot distance for up to 10 hours.
• Move tables up to 70 lbs, force >35 lbs, 2‑foot distance for up to 1 hour.
