JOB DESCRIPTION

Auxiliary/Additional information: Open in Bastrop Independent School District (Bastrop ISD) for PM shift variants noted in the original description.

BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Clean and maintain district facilities using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance
• Ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment
• Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies

• Cleaning: Sweep, wet and dry mop, buff and wax floors and participate in floor stripping; vacuum and shampoo carpet; clean and sanitize restrooms and common areas; remove scuff marks; operate custodial equipment; maintain a cleaning schedule; keep building and grounds neat and clean; comply with local disposal laws; assist in inventory of supplies.
• Maintenance and Repair: Move furniture/equipment as directed; perform preventative maintenance; make minor repairs and report major needs; assist in setting up facilities for events.
• Safety: Open/close buildings, check exit doors, follow safety procedures; inspect machines; report unsafe conditions; follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Other: Ability to work various shifts/locations; collaborate with others and take directions.
