BASIC FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITY: Assist the IT Operations Specialist II for timely and effective handling of end-user support tickets relating to desktop hardware, software, and related infrastructure. Responsible for the coordination of all inventory management and warranty processes. Assist with Receiving, tagging, and tracking IT equipment and be responsible to ensure the accurate capture of data. Perform a variety of clerical duties including data entry and maintenance of files and records.

Perform on-site technical work to install and maintain computer equipment and network and software applications throughout the district with limited supervision. Strong customer service skills.

ENTRY

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED; 1-3 years of experience in an IT support role; A+, network+, or equivalent Microsoft or CompTIA certification in relevant programs preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of computer workstation setup (various systems i.e., PC, Apple, Linux, etc.)
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications (various systems i.e., PC, Apple, Linux, etc.)
  • Knowledge of computer mobile devices (various systems i.e., Apple, Android, Windows, etc.)
  • Ability to install, maintain, and repair computers and peripherals, including printers, scanners, and presentation devices
  • Ability to install and maintain network cables and hardware
  • Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs
CHARACTERISTIC

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support of Administrative, Fiscal and/or Facilities Functions:
  • Responsible for contract / warranty repair processes for work that cannot be performed by district staff
  • Responsible for the organization, tracking, and maintenance of all IT warehouse inventory; ensures devices are properly imaged, configured, and deployment‑ready; maintains adequate stock levels of IT equipment and replacement parts to support operational needs.
  • Assist with the IT onboarding process by verifying new user accounts, training new users, and ensuring that all systems are ready to go for the success of new employees, including VoIP user management
  • Assist with the IT employee transfer and exiting process by ensuring that all accounts have been properly adjusted and configured
  • Assist with IT office front desk responsibilities; provide telephone support to end‑users via the District’s Technology Help Desk;
    Answer incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff; handle questions and requests that fall within level of responsibility
  • Assist with inventories and usage monitoring of all IT assets and record all findings, changes, physical location, and incidences of support
  • Assist with checking orders against packing slips and purchase orders for soundness, condition, shortage or discrepancies
  • Assist with receiving, tagging, storing, tracking and deployment of IT equipment
  • Package materials for shipping, delivery or return and keep appropriate records
  • Issue materials, supplies, parts and equipment per established Help Desk processes and procedures
  • Assist with the evaluation of equipment being surveyed or returned from schools and departments to determine its condition and sort items appropriately; recommend technology‑related repairs and costs
