This role is part of the construction projects team at the Bastrop Campus and focuses on the design, build, and activation of infrastructure, facilities improvements, and large capital projects. The position is based in Bastrop, Texas (Austin area).
- Coordinate with stakeholders to manage small to large capital projects across the site, from planning through final delivery
- Apply architecture/engineering knowledge to accelerate design and resolve field conflicts during construction
- Write and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines through contract close-out
- Perform project controls including scheduling, budgeting, and cost control
- Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field in real time
- Oversee full lifecycle of tasks and/or projects to achieve on-time and under-budget delivery with customer satisfaction
- Manage tools and folder systems for organizing construction projects
- Provide budgetary costs based on preliminary scope
- Gather proposals from architects, engineers, and contractors; assign contracts upon receipt of all proposals
- Develop final cost and schedule, and implement controls to manage cost, schedule, and scope
- Facilitate city, county, and governmental approvals
- Coordinate project implementation and track status
- Collaborate with facilities team and end users to operationalize post-construction operations and maintenance
- Coordinate with end users and facilities team for building operations and maintenance
- Manage night-shift contractors as needed
- Take on new projects as business needs require
- Bachelor’s degree in an architecture or engineering discipline
- 3+ years of professional experience in architecture, engineering, construction management, or facilities management
- Experience managing multiple vertical projects
- Experience with project management and scheduling software
- Design experience in a technical field
- Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Knowledge of jurisdictional permitting and environmental agency processes
- Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, piping, geotechnical, and surveying disciplines
- Experience with major construction project management including estimating, cost control, schedule, and contractor management
- Experience reading and approving shop drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Ability to adapt roles quickly while maintaining urgency in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively
- Manufacturing facility experience
- Ability to work at elevated heights
- Physical effort with lifting and carrying materials or equipment up to 25 lbs
- Operates in extreme outdoor environments – heat, cold, rain
- Exposure to fumes, odors, and noise
- Availability to work extended hours and weekends as needed based on site operations; flexibility required
- Valid driver’s license
- Occasional travel to support projects at other sites
