A Typical Day
As a Multi-Unit Team Leader
, you’ll provide leadership over three H&R Block tax offices. You’ll lead customer‑centric teams to accelerate seasonal tax business, develop associates, deliver an outstanding client experience, and achieve office growth objectives. Prior tax preparation experience is not required. You will start a flexible part‑time schedule in the fall and transition to full‑time from January to April, including evening and weekend hours as needed.
This role is in‑person and not remote.
Responsibilities
- Lead office staffing, operations, and logistics for multiple offices with support from Associate Team Leaders
- Partner with the District General Manager (DGM) to create and implement office growth plans and client growth targets, including developing local partnerships and managing office community involvement
- Assist DGM in recruiting and interviewing candidates for tax office positions
- Conduct timely performance reviews and collaborate with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns
- Build an engaging team environment across all offices through training and coaching
- Lead daily team meetings and communicate essential information to tax office associates
- Create associate work schedules for all offices and ensure accurate timekeeping and labor management
- Travel between offices as required
- Prepare tax returns as needed, upon successful completion of the Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment
Qualifications / What you’ll bring
- People management experience with a track record of developing associates
- Ability to execute growth plans and foster a growth culture
- Strong decision-making and judgment in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric mindset
- Proficiency with MS Office
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience
- Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns)
