Morehouse General Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate OB-GYN Physician to join our growing healthcare team. Located in Bastrop, Louisiana—just 30 minutes from Monroe—our hospital offers the opportunity to practice a full range of obstetrics and gynecology in a supportive, community-based setting.

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive women’s health services, including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, gynecologic, and surgical care. This role requires a dedication to patient-centered medicine, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and a passion for improving health outcomes for women across all life stages.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide complete obstetric care, including prenatal visits, deliveries (vaginal and cesarean), and postpartum follow-up.
  • Perform gynecologic exams, screenings, and preventive health services.
  • Diagnose and manage gynecologic conditions, including infections, menstrual disorders, infertility, and menopause-related concerns.
  • Perform gynecologic surgeries, including minimally invasive procedures, as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with nurses, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients on reproductive health, family planning, and lifestyle choices.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant medical records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABMS or AOA).
  • Active Louisiana medical license or eligibility to obtain.
  • DEA registration with full prescriptive authority.
  • Commitment to providing evidence-based, high-quality care to women across the lifespan.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for working with patients, families, and team members.
  • Ability to manage both routine and high-risk obstetric patients.
