What you'll be doing
  • You'll be the central hub of information within Control — making sure the right people get the right info at the right time.
  • Collate & share vital info between Network Rail Control and TOC/FOC Controls
  • Provide real-time train updates to internal & external customers via TYRELL, email & more
  • Maintain clear, accurate & timely communications
  • Keep OIS screens updated with concise, reliable info in line with company standards
  • Ensure passengers, Train Operators & Network Rail teams always know what's happening
  • Record notable actions in daily logs
  • Produce reports & key supporting data to agreed requirements
  • Work closely with the Route Control Manager to support seamless information flow
  • Support Incident Controllers with the “prioritised plan” in line with PIDD ACOP requirements
  • Assist the Train Running Controller in creating & sharing amended train plans during disruption
  • Support Gold Command during major incidents with accurate minute-taking & information collation
What you MUST bring to the role
  • Strong communicator who can deliver clear, calm and concise information
  • Good geographical knowledge of the applicable Route
  • Proven knowledge of control procedures and instructions
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office + Control systems (TRUST, CCIL, TRUST DA, Tyrell or similar)
  • Understanding of Train Operating Companies across the route
  • Strong team player with good decision-making ability
  • Able to influence, stay focused and work effectively under pressure
  • Appreciation of signalling, permanent way & electrification
  • Knowledge of adjoining Routes
  • Understanding of the commercial landscape within Network Rail & TOCs
