Are you a skilled fabricator who takes pride in precision, quality, and craftsmanship? Do you want more than just a job on the tools but a long-term career with genuine development opportunities?
We’re recruiting for a Metal Fabrication Technician to join a highly respected, long-established British engineering manufacturer with a global customer base. While we’re keeping the company name confidential at this stage, what we can share is this: their reputation for quality, stability, and staff development is exceptional.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out This isn’t just another fabrication role. You’ll be joining a growing manufacturing department where your work directly contributes to specialist, high-quality machinery.
Industry-Leading Training & Development Professional development is a genuine priority here. You’ll benefit from:
Structured training across diverse fabrication processes
Advanced welding development — including laser welding training
Exposure to complex, high-specification engineering projects
Ongoing upskilling in collaboration with experienced engineers
Clear opportunities to broaden your technical capabilities
Whether you’re looking to refine your expertise or expand into more advanced techniques, you’ll be supported every step of the way.
The Role Working alongside an established team of welders and fabrication specialists, you will:
Set up and operate press brakes, plasma cutters, and sheet rollers
Interpret technical drawings and CAD files to produce precision components
Carry out MIG, TIG, and laser welding (training provided for laser processes)
Fabricate and finish components to high food-industry quality standards
Collaborate closely with design engineers and production teams
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
You’ll see your components progress through to fully assembled, premium machinery giving you real visibility and pride in your work.
What We’re Looking For Essential:
Proven experience in sheet-metal fabrication and welding
Strong understanding of fabrication methods and metal properties
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Excellent attention to detail
Strong team player with good communication skills
Desirable:
Experience precision engineering
Exposure to lean or process improvement practices
Experience collaborating with design/engineering teams
The Package
Salary from £38,000 per annum (DOE)
22 days holiday bank holidays (rising to 25 with service)
Workplace pension scheme
Medical Cash Plan (after qualifying period)
Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:00
Friday: 08:00–15:00
Flexi-time available
Overtime available when workload permits
If you’re looking for a stable, forward-thinking engineering environment where your development is genuinely invested in and where your fabrication skills contribute to world-class machinery, we’d love to hear from you
