Position Overview

We are now seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to join our Environmental Protection team.

As an Environmental Health Officer (Environmental Protection), you will play a vital role in delivering complex and high‑profile environmental protection casework.

• Deliver statutory nuisance, environmental permitting, contaminated land, and air quality casework, and support wider environmental health regulation.
• Provide technical guidance to colleagues, mentor peers, and support continuous service improvement.
• Investigate complaints and prepare responses to planning consultations, working closely with residents, businesses, partner agencies, and internal teams to resolve complex environmental issues.
• Apply professional judgement, communication skills and problem-solving abilities to ensure regulatory compliance and positive outcomes.

• Professional registration is required; applicants not yet registered but expected to achieve registration within the next six months will be considered.
• Candidates with substantial relevant experience who meet the required criteria may be considered for appointment at Senior EHO (SEHO) level.
