Are you a detail‑driven finance professional who thrives on accuracy, strong stakeholder partnerships and high‑quality financial reporting? We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join our Finance team, supporting the Group Reporting Manager and taking ownership of key elements of our month‑end, transactional accounting and wider reporting responsibilities. This is a hands‑on role with real scope to influence financial processes, build stakeholder relationships and improve the clarity of reporting across the business.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you will be doing
- Leading key elements of the month‑end close, including transaction completeness reviews, prepayments, accruals and operating cost analysis.
- Preparing and processing journals, monthly cost reporting, balance sheet reconciliations and high‑level P&L outputs.
- Owning the transactional accounting for the company, including supplier invoices, commission receipts and preparation of weekly supplier pay‑runs.
- Producing the trial balance and supporting the preparation of basic financial statements.
- Working with stakeholders across the business to review, understand and clearly explain departmental cost bases in monthly cost review meetings.
- Preparing quarterly VAT returns and ensuring robust compliance.
- Producing group bank reconciliations and contributing to regular cash reporting.
- Supporting audit preparation and assisting the Group Reporting Manager with improvements in automation, reporting quality and cost efficiency initiatives.
What we are looking for
- Strong experience in month‑end processes, reconciliations and financial reporting within a fast‑paced finance environment.
- Experience in owning the day to day transactional accounting, ideally being able to demonstrate automation and process improvement to drive efficiencies.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, XLOOKUP, large datasets) with the ability to identify and resolve errors independently.
- Adaptable, resilient, and a supportive team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
- Self‑disciplined and efficient, with a proactive and flexible approach to work. Along with the ability to work calmly and accurately to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Clear and concise communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with both finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
- Understanding of VAT requirements in a financial services environment.
