Packaged Gases is a high-margin division of Air Products, characterized by a fast, complex, and agile supply chain. We are committed to introducing innovative technologies through automation and robotics to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Role Purpose

The PG Depot Engineer will support the Packaged Gases Engineering team in delivering depot engineering solutions, developing large-scale PG projects, and executing strategic improvement initiatives. The role also provides day-to-day technical support for Packaged Gases teams globally.

Projects are fast-paced and cover all phases—from initial concept through to start-up. Key responsibilities include defining scope, design, cost estimates, execution strategies, stakeholder reporting, barrier resolution, resource planning, commissioning, start-up, and handover to site operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead central depot automation and digitization projects; support and coordinate local initiatives.
  • Develop and implement plant condition monitoring across European PG depots; set KPIs and configure dashboards.
  • Support Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for PG depots and production scheduling.
  • Contribute to PG depot equipment design and development.
  • Assist in productivity projects aimed at reducing depot costs.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • Valid passport for European travel and a full driving license.
  • Knowledge of CAPP and Air Products Engineering Desktop applications (training provided if needed).
  • Ability to develop multi-disciplinary project scopes; understanding of project engineering is advantageous.
  • Motivated, self-starter with strong decision-making skills.
  • Ability to drive projects to completion and build confidence with local teams.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • English required; additional European language is an advantage.
