The Role of the Process Engineer:
They are looking for a skilled Process Engineer to develop, optimise, and maintain their SMT manufacturing processes. This pivotal role ensures high product quality, reliability, and efficiency across our production lines. You will support new product introductions, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and provide technical expertise to our SMT assembly operations.
Responsibilities of the Process Engineer:
Develop, implement, and optimise SMT processes including solder paste printing, pick-and-place, reflow soldering, AOI, and SPI.
Create and maintain work instructions, process flow diagrams, FMEAs, control plans, and other technical documentation.
Troubleshoot production issues related to solder defects, placement accuracy, reflow profiles, and component reliability.
Optimise reflow profiles for various PCB assemblies and component packages (e.g., QFN, BGA, fine-pitch devices).
Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering teams to improve DFM/DFT practices.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Ensure compliance with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001) and internal quality requirements.
Requirements of the Process Engineer:
Bachelors degree in electrical, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
37 years of hands-on experience in Process Engineering (or similar).
Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis tools.
