Field Hydrometrist (Field Technician)

Location: Basingstoke, Warminster, Chippenham (Reading)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week with overtime available

Salary: £24,570 per annum

Hydro International, a CRH Company, is a leading global provider of advanced data services and expertise to help municipal, industrial and construction customers improve their water management processes, increase operational performance, and reduce environmental impact. We operate and maintain Hydro-Logic Flexi Logger 105 equipment and provide data reports on water levels, water quality, and discharge.

The role involves visiting various sites, primarily undertaking field measurements of water quantity (flow), depth, quality, rainfall, etc. Responsibilities also include installing, operating, and maintaining telemetry logging equipment.

• A passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Comfortable working in water with strong swimming skills
• Confidence in working at heights, such as using ladders, and ease in working within confined spaces
• Good level of computer literacy (MS Office applications – Word, Excel)
• Possession of a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant environmental field (e.g., Environmental Science, Geography, Geology, etc.)
• Demonstrates awareness of potential risks and safety protocols
• Experienced in hands‑on tasks, including use of power and hand tools
• Willing to travel as required
• Possess a valid UK driver's licence for 12 months or more

• Full training is provided; prior experience not required provided you possess the essential skills listed above
• Experience with hydrometric field data collection is beneficial but not essential
