Cover Supervisor - SEN All-Through School

Basingstoke | 32.5 hours per week | 39 weeks per year (term time + INSET)

Academics are working on behalf of a welcoming and well-established SEN all-through school in Basingstoke to recruit an experienced and confident Cover Supervisor.

This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting teaching and learning across the school by supervising whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff. You will deliver pre-planned lessons, manage classroom behaviour, and ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment for pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will also work closely with teaching staff, providing feedback on pupil engagement, progress and behaviour.

Key responsibilities include:

Supervising and managing whole classes in the absence of the class teacher

Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring continuity of learning

Supporting pupils with a range of SEN, promoting inclusion and independence

Managing behaviour in line with school policies

Working collaboratively with teaching and support staff

The ideal candidate must have relevant experience working in a school or SEN setting and hold a UK-recognised degree. You will be confident leading a classroom, have strong behaviour management skills, and demonstrate a genuine commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs.
