Role Description

This full‑time, on‑site Teaching Assistant role is based in Basingstoke at Chiltern Way Academy Trust. The Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers to support students' learning needs, particularly children with ASC and SEMH. Responsibilities include providing one‑on‑one and group assistance during lessons, supporting students' social, emotional, and educational needs, and helping to implement individual learning plans. The role will also involve fostering a safe and supportive environment to encourage positive behaviour and learning development.

Qualifications
  • Experience or skills in assistant teaching and education
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students
  • Knowledge of mathematics and ability to support children in their academic progress
  • Proven experience or passion for working with children, particularly those with behavioural or learning needs
  • Patience, empathy, and adaptability in a diverse learning environment
  • A relevant qualification in teaching assistance or education is a plus
  • Experience working with ASC or SEMH students is highly desirable
