Working within a team of specialist consultants and junior doctors in training, the post holder will be expected to initiate and provide sound clinical and medical practices to patients admitted to the Medicine division, while supporting patients' family and friends and demonstrating that the patient is the central focus of care. The post involves participation in the on‑call rota. The post holder will be predominately based at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital but should also be prepared to work at any HHFT site if required.
Job SummaryThe Registrar will undertake a range of clinical duties in general medicine, with a particular focus on gastroenterology or respiratory medicine. Duties include patient assessment, drug prescription, discharge administration, MDT meetings, and supervision of junior doctors.
Main duties of the job- Clerk and post‑take administration; writing in patient notes
- Undertake patient reviews
- Investigate and initiate medical management

- Facilitate daily board round with MD

The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the major provider of hospital services to the population of North and Mid Hampshire and surrounding areas. Our hospitals in Basingstoke and Winchester provide a comprehensive range of acute services and act as a tertiary referral centre for colorectal, liver, peritoneal carcinomatosis, haemophilia and pseudomyxoma surgery.

- GMC registration
