We’re recruiting for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This full‑time role is based out of our Basingstoke office, covering the Waverley area (Godalming, Farnham, Haslemere). The role can be remote; you’ll be out and about within the community in your designated patch.

What we offer:

  • 26 days holiday (pro‑rata, plus bank holidays) with the opportunity to buy or sell annual leave
  • A productivity‑related bonus scheme to enhance your take‑home pay
  • A generous contributory pension of 6% (we’ll match employee contributions between 7% and 10%)
  • Life assurance paid at three times annual salary
  • Private medical insurance
  • Health‑care cash plan (Medicash)
  • Enhanced pay for maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave
  • Access to counselling, legal and financial information
  • Electric car scheme
  • Huge variety of in‑house & e‑learning courses and a range of coaching and mentoring programmes

About the role:

As a neighbourhood officer you’ll be the main contact for customers within your patch. You’ll handle a range of matters related to tenancy conditions, health and safety, rent/service charges, repairs and more. Your overall aim is to help create attractive, safe and sustainable communities for our customers to live in by ensuring quality, value‑for‑money services. You’ll develop a deep understanding of our customers’ needs and recognise when referrals to the tenancy support team are required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as the go‑to person for customers, addressing enquiries and issues confidently
  • Manage challenging customers and neighbour disputes with resilience and assertiveness
  • Work face‑to‑face with the general public in a public services environment
  • Identify support needs and facilitate referrals to the tenancy support team
  • Provide cover or support in other areas when required
  • Maintain accurate records and report on service performance

Qualifications and experience:

  • Strong customer focus with experience handling challenging interactions
  • Demonstrable experience working with the general public face‑to‑face or in a public services environment
  • Awareness and understanding of the social housing sector (experience in housing management/law an advantage)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use (business mileage will be paid)
  • Satisfactory DBS check required
  • Resilience, assertiveness and the ability to work under pressure

Interviews are scheduled for 26 & 27 Jan (subject to change).
