Senior Rating Surveyor

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Senior Rating Surveyor, located in Basingstoke with the flexibility of working remotely on occasion. The Senior Rating Surveyor will undertake professional rating advice and manage business rates matters on behalf of clients. Day-to-day tasks include conducting valuations for rating assessments, preparing appeals, negotiating with the Valuation Office Agency, and offering strategic advice to minimize rates liabilities.

The role also involves building strong relationships with clients and ensuring compliance with current legislation and guidelines.

• Strong skills in property valuation, rating assessments, and providing strategic professional advice
• Experience in negotiation with key stakeholders, including the Valuation Office Agency and other regulatory bodies
• Proficiency in research, legal interpretation, and compliance with rating legislation
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively within a hybrid working model
• Full membership to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is required
• A track record in business rates or commercial property consulting is highly beneficial
