Workshop Controller

Role & Purpose

The Workshop Controller is a member of the Bodyshop Team and will report to the Bodyshop Manager. The Workshop Controller is responsible for controlling the workshop to maximise workflow without compromising the repair quality.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all workshop employees carryout their tasks correctly according to BS10125.
  • Liaise will all other departments to ensure the work flows through the Bodyshop.
  • Communicate effectively with the customers to keep them reassured about the work being carried out on their vehicle.
  • Allocate the work to the productive team, setting up the job cards with quality check sheets to ensure the work remains at a high standard.
  • Carry out the quality checks on the repairs and the final quality control to ensure consistency in standards.
  • Liaise with subcontractors/estimators if extra work is required.
  • Communicate effectively with: other departments; engineers; auditors; and customers to ensure all parties are updated and have the correct information and reflect this in the management systems.

  • Previous experience within the automotive industry, particularly workshop control or technician.

Essential & Desirable

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • PC, Microsoft, web literate.
  • Full, clean driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Previous supervisory experience.
