CTC Theatre Practitioner - ODP Anaesthetics

Are you an ODP/Band 5 theatre practitioner looking to develop your skills into the cardiothoracic specialty? We have an exciting opportunity for an ODP to join our multi-disciplinary theatre team at The Essex Cardiothoracic Centre. This role requires an enthusiastic, committed and diligent person who is keen to move into a specialist department, able to work within a dynamic team and will strive to maintain the high standard of care offered to our patients.

There will be an on call commitment required as part of the post to cover out of hours working. There will also be an opportunity to develop further skills in scrub and recovery. Job Summary

In this role you will work as a competent member of the Cardiothoracic Theatre team, performing a wide range of duties in the anaesthetic/scrub areas, and assisting with care planning and delivery to support patient recovery.

• Work as a competent member of the Cardiothoracic Theatre team in anaesthetic and scrub areas.
• Assess care needs and contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care.
• Maintain good unit management and organisational skills and support the education of staff.
• Assist with cleaning, maintenance and safe handling of equipment.

Essential

• Interest in cardiothoracics.
• Experience as an ODP (post-qualification).
• Previous NHS experience.
• NMC / HCPC Registration or pending.

Desirable

• Holds anaesthetics course qualification or pending.
• Willingness to develop further in scrub and recovery.
