Location: Basildon, Essex

Pay: £90 - £100 per day (DOE)

Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term

Randstad Education is seeking a compassionate and versatile Learning Support Assistant to join a premier All-Age Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Basildon. This school provides a nurturing environment for students aged 3 to 19 with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).

This is a unique opportunity to work across various developmental stages, supporting pupils with complex medical, physical, and sensory needs.

• Holistic Support: Provide 1:1 and small group support, adapting your approach for Early Years through to Post-16.
• Sensory Engagement: Implement sensory-rich learning activities to stimulate cognitive and physical development.
• Personal Care & Welfare: Confidently assist with personal hygiene, toileting, and feeding (including PEG feeding support where required).
• Physical Management: Assist with moving and handling, utilising hoists and standing frames to ensure student comfort and safety.
• Communication: Use Makaton, PECS, and eye-gaze technology to facilitate student expression.

• Experience: Proven experience supporting individuals with complex needs (SEN school, care, or nursing background).
• Adaptability: The ability to pivot between supporting different age groups and developmental levels.
• Training: Valid Manual Handling or Moving and Handling certification is highly desirable.
• Reliability: A consistent and patient presence is vital for the stability of our students.
• Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to process one through Randstad).
