Workplace Solutions Estimator Commercial / Fit-Out Projects
Location: Laindon (Office-based, Monday to Friday)
Hours: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM
Salary: £60,000+ (dependent on experience)
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing, family-run commercial construction and fit-out business based in Laindon. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Estimator with a strong commercial or fit-out background to join a business known for its supportive culture and long-term stability.
The Estimator Role
As a Workplace Solutions Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate tenders and quotations across a range of commercial fit-out projects. The Estimator will work closely with Directors, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors, and clients, supporting the business from tender stage through to project delivery.
This role would suit an Estimator who enjoys client interaction, technical problem-solving, and working on varied commercial workplace projects.
Estimator Responsibilities
Prepare and manage quotes and tenders for low to high-value works (£2k £1m) as an Estimator
Support the wider workplace team with pricing, tenders, and commercial input
Lead and attend internal and external tender review meetings as the project Estimator
Read, interpret, and price from technical drawings and specifications
Carry out full Estimator duties, including issuing enquiries to suppliers and subcontractors
Provide variation and site instruction pricing, drawing on strong fit-out experience
Support the M&E Project Manager with tender costings and programme input
Provide post-quote updates and follow-up communication with clients
Support QS-related duties and assist with O&M manuals and associated documentation
Maintain clear communication and a client-responsive, solutions-focused approach
Use in-house systems, product knowledge, and Microsoft Office packages effectively
Take ownership of workload planning, documentation, and deadlines as the lead Estimator
Daily Estimator Tasks
Maintain daily communication with the wider team, including updates and meetings with Directors and clients
Manage workload priorities to ensure tenders and estimates are delivered accurately and on time
Estimator Requirements
Proven experience as an Estimator within commercial construction and/or fit-out
Background in commercial fit-out and fabric works is highly desirable
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project pricing
Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
