Administration Assistant
Basildon Essex
£16 per hour
37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

About the Role

We are recruiting an Administration Assistant on behalf of a local authority based in Basildon. This is a full time, office based role supporting a busy public sector team with a wide range of administrative and business support tasks.

The role sits within a collaborative environment and supports both day to day operations and wider programme activity. It would suit someone who enjoys providing structured, reliable support within an office setting.

This role would also suit candidates searching for Admin Officer, Office Administrator, Business Support Assistant, Clerical Assistant or Team Administrator roles.

What You’ll Do

* Provide effective, proactive and reactive business support to the wider team

* Support the organisation of meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation and coordinating paperwork

* Quality assure documents for internal and external meetings to ensure accuracy and consistency

* Work collaboratively with the Programme Management Office and Democratic Services teams

* Assist with inbox management, tracking actions and maintaining accurate records

* Support project and programme documentation as required

* Handle information with confidentiality and ensure tasks are completed accurately and on time

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with previous experience in an administration or office support role who is comfortable working in a structured environment.

Experience with in a local authority or wider public sector setting would be helpful, though not essential.

Strong organisational skills, good attention to detail and confidence using Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Outlook are important. The role suits someone who can manage their own workload while working closely with colleagues across different teams.
