Jeffrey Gitomer.Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established accountancy practice based in Basildon, Essex to recruit an Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take ownership of client work within a supportive and professional environment.The role:You will manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients, preparing financial statements and supporting audit engagements.

The position offers hands-on experience across a range of clients and sectors, with opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility.Your key responsibilities as an Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior will include:

• Leading or supporting audits and client engagements.
• Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of clients.
• Assisting with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and VAT returns.
• Reviewing and mentoring junior staff (for senior level).
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

The ideal Audit & Accounts Semi-Senior or Senior will have:

• An ACA/ACCA qualification (or part-qualified for semi-senior level).
• 2 years' experience within a practice environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, client-focused mindset.
