Sheridan Maine is partnering with a well-established accountancy practice based in Basildon, Essex to recruit an Audit & Accounts Semi‑Senior or Senior. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take ownership of client work within a supportive and professional environment.

You will manage a portfolio of audit and accounts clients, preparing financial statements and supporting audit engagements. The position offers hands‑on experience across a range of clients and sectors, with opportunities for professional development and increased responsibility.

• Leading or supporting audits and client engagements.
• Preparing statutory accounts for a variety of clients.
• Assisting with bookkeeping, reconciliations, and VAT returns.
• Reviewing and mentoring junior staff (for senior level).
• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.

• An ACA/ACCA qualification (or part‑qualified for semi‑senior level).
• 2 years’ experience within a practice environment.
• Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive, client‑focused mindset.
