Background

Pharma Biosample Services (PBS) within Roche Product Development focuses on the reception, storage, and analysis of human samples collected during clinical trials. PBS supports biomarker‑related activities, ensuring the highest quality of samples and associated data for the Roche scientific community. The PBS Basel laboratory also offers long‑term storage of clinical samples for exploratory research or precautionary purposes.

This role centers on the reception, registration, and storage of human biosamples, including inventory checks (e.g., freezer content checks), monitoring temperatures, sample status, and freezer capacities.

• Perform laboratory‑based activities and processes
• Track, inventory, process, and transport biological samples from clinical and non‑clinical trials
• Manage associated metadata and ensure lab activities fulfill customer needs
• Achieve operational excellence in quality, service levels, cost, and compliance

• Holds a BSc or MSc in Biomedical Research (PhDs not considered)
• Brings at least 2 years of relevant industry experience as a Lab Technician or Research Associate
• Has hands‑on experience with:
  LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System), Biological sample reception, registration, storage, and shipment
• Familiar with:
  GCP requirements and BSL‑2 laboratory environments and Ethical considerations related to biological samples
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships
• Customer‑oriented, able to assess and fulfill research needs efficiently
