Short Description
As an Expert in Science and Technology for Downstream Process Development, you will design and execute scientific experiments to ensure the timely delivery of drug substance (DS) manufacturing processes. You will work closely with multifunctional project teams, conduct purification experiments, and contribute to technical activities under the guidance of experienced colleagues. Your role includes evaluating and reporting experimental results, maintaining laboratory infrastructure, and optimizing methods for improved efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and perform scientific experiments to support DS manufacturing process development.
- Collaborate within multifunctional project teams led by a Project Leader.
- Conduct purification experiments (e.g., chromatography, filtration).
- Contribute to scientific and technical project activities with guidance from senior team members.
- Maintain laboratory instruments and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with quality and timelines.
- Document experiments and plant activities; optimize existing methods to improve efficiency.
- Communicate and resolve technical issues; perform safety and literature searches.
- Manage chemicals and solvents responsibly within your area of work.
- Work collaboratively to ensure timely DS delivery.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Associate Scientist/Associate Expert or a completed Bachelor’s degree.
- Proven ability to safely handle chemicals, hazardous materials, and laboratory equipment.
- Strong scientific or technical knowledge in biotechnology or related fields.
- Proficiency with laboratory tools, technical equipment, and relevant software.
- Experience with downstream technologies such as chromatography or filtration is an advantage.
- Basic presentation and scientific writing skills.
- Technician with continuing education (EU) or BS degree (or equivalent).
- Fluency in the site language and good command of English (oral and written).
